SEPTEMBER 2014 NUGGETS OF TRUTH
ARE YOU SUFFERING?
Listen to audio
Never before in the history of
our world have we been able to view such suffering and heartache through media.
It is thrust upon us every time we watch television, open our computers, or
just look around us.
Suffering can come in many
forms and intensity. Some are unable to
overcome the grief from the loss of a loved one. The heart can become burdened with struggling
over the welfare of a family member.
Difficult relationship issues can cause emotional pain. There are those in such stress because of
financial difficulties and uncertainty.
Many suffer from disease or pain and wondering if health will return
again? Among us are the lonely and the
desperate who cannot find an answer for life.
Addictions may be causing one to spin out of control. Depression and discouragement seems to be on
the rise. People can see the suffering
of innocent people and begin to question why do they have to suffer? Wrong choices can cause suffering.
Just reading the above
paragraph can put a downer on the mind!
Precious friend, it does not
have to be that way. We may not be able
to change the world, but we can change ourselves. There can always be a light at the end of the
If we would look into the lives
of people in the Bible such as Job, Joseph, Apostle Paul, David and others, we
see they suffered greatly yet rose to great victory. Recently, I was watching a video on the
amazing life of Nick Vujicic, who was born without limbs. The Lord is using Nick greatly because of his
indomitable spirit of never quitting with such overwhelming conditions of life. There are other true heroes in every day life
that we do not hear about in the mainstream media.
Who is the suffering
Saviour? His name is Jesus! He took upon
His precious sinless body, every curse, sin, evil and challenge of life and
circumstance of the entire world. Jesus
Christ died and arose again, victorious over death, hell and the grave for you
and me. From His sacrifice for mankind
comes almost “too-good-to-be-true” good news: The Gospel of grace and salvation through
Jesus Christ. It is more than
amazing! Jesus loves with such
incredible grace and compassion.
No matter how the world appears
in all of its evilness and oppression, it does not come from God. It is the enemy of God who comes to kill,
steal, and destroy. Man is born with a nature to sin and the flesh is weak (Jeremiah
17:9). But the love of God will reach
down to the uttermost to save all that call upon Him. Whatever the suffering
and heartache, there is an answer for hope and deliverance. Anyone can be changed, if the heart desires
it. Jesus can take away pain and
corruption. He comes with love, joy, peace and true goodness of heart and
Jesus came to “seek and save those who are lost.” Whoever
calls upon Him will be saved (John 10:9-10).
Repentance is a great gift. When
we confess our sin and become humble before God, it opens the door for Jesus to
touch us and set us free.
How do we receive victory in
overcoming suffering? Look to Jesus with
your whole heart. Cry out to Him. Believe Him.
Trust Him. Get into the powerful,
eternal Word of God that gives life and hope.
Christians, there is victory in
a surrendered heart. We can
never be successful trying to live part of our life for ourselves and seek
Jesus with part of our heart. That
propels us into double-mindedness. The Bible teaches us to be set apart from
the world in all of its stresses and allurement. Search the Bible for
answers. They are there! When you earnestly call upon God, whatever
suffering you are in, He will meet you in your need. It is so important to guard our mind.
Dear friends, pray for the
peace of Jerusalem. To love Israel is to
know the heart of God. Prayer is the
hope for America. Stand for right. Time is short. Our eternity can come in a ”twinkling of the eye.”
