WHERE IT ALL STARTED!
My friend, we are talking about PRIDE, with a capital P! It has created a mess in the human race and
it continues to play havoc in the individual life as well!
It all started with a beautiful, anointed Cherub of Heaven, named
Lucifer. Pride entered his heart and he
wanted to be a god, like The God! (Reference: Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14:12-27). He was consumed with his own beauty and
ability. The Almighty, Holy and Merciful
God, who created all good and wonderful things, had to cast him out of heaven
and the devil’s cohorts with him. Now,
Satan is ugly and perverted. He is a
dark menace who only wants to kill, steal and destroy as many as he can. His heart is evil and black. He wants to deceive every human with lies and
rebellion. He is the total opposite of everything God stands for. He hates men, women, boys and girls and
especially Christians! DO NOT, FOR A MINUTE, give him
any honor, significance or even a nod! He has been defeated and he knows he is
God created Adam and Eve and gave them everything. They lived in a paradise, surrounded by
absolute beauty. There was no need to go to a supermarket for food. They had every delicious thing before them,
just for the picking. There were no
worries about a trip to mall for the latest in clothing styles! Their Creator came down every day to walk
and talk with them. Can you just imagine
what a wonderful life that was? Until.. the serpent came along. He appealed to their PRIDE and the rest is history. In
reality, God was sparing them from themselves because of His love and mercy
when he had to take them from the Garden of Eden. They would have only learned
more from the tree of good and evil.
God had to change the
course for the rest of mankind! He was
going to provide protection and redemption to all men who would choose Him.
Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
There is something God
hates: It is recorded in Proverbs 6:17: Pride!
Why? Because Jehovah God knew the
capability of man’s heart and that destruction comes with pride.
Greek definition of Pride (Young’s
Concordance, #5423): excessive shining, i.e.
self-exaltation (self-absorption) which carries its own self-destructive vanity.
We all have a belief system; ours or
God’s. Pride is when we
decide to follow our own self
As we look around us, we can see the enemy’s evil work everywhere
and as well as right in our own back yard! But good news is ahead. Keep reading.

the good news. What is the answer for man’s pride
dilemma? JESUS! He is the only one
that can change the heart and set us free from ourselves. When we trust in Him, He gives us the power
of the Holy Spirit (who lives within the life of every Christian). The Holy
Spirit is our great Teacher, Comforter and Defender.
shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the
mouth of God.
A powerful Scripture to pray: Let not the foot of pride
come against me, nor the hand of the wicked remove me. (Psalms 36:11)
DIE AND FLY! What does that mean? My friend, it is a key to
your victory in the Christian life. We are accustomed to living in our own
thoughts, ideas and environment that it is the guiding force in our life. That must change! We must come to the place where
we “die to ourselves” and allow the Lord to be first place. Then, we can fly like the eagle over the mundane of
life. It is called ABSOLUTE SURRENDER or “my way for God’s way.”
A great principle and
truth: 1 Peter 5:6:
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you
in due time. (Notice: it
does take time.)
Lord always gives us a way to do what is necessary. Romans 12:1-2: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God.
Our minds must be

ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29).
We need to remind ourselves constantly,
Jesus, we can do nothing (John 15:5)
is an attitude of the heart that reflects our walk with the Lord. Attitude should reflect gratitude! A hard heart is reflective of a lack of
thankfulness. Putting it another way: When we cease to be thankful for what God
has done, our heart will soon become hard which leads to disobedience.
A wonderful, mind-cleansing practice: 1
Thessalonians 5:17: In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus concerning you.
As you start a study of these truths you will soon learn about a great peace that does pass all understanding.
